I've created this page for a few reasons. Firstly, I love writing! I find it therapeutic and a great way to express myself. Although I wasn't the smartest kid in school, my "voice of expression" and confident personality has always been a strength of mine. I love to speak frankly, and from my heart. Secondly, I've been asked by many of my friends to start a blog, but until now I really didn't know the "topic" of what I wanted to blog about. Fitness? Family? Staying fit through pregnancy? (That didn't happen 3rd time around! lol) Motherhood? Inspiration and motivation? And then with all the choices, I lost interest and have put it off... UNTIL NOW! I am a jack of all trades.... I've been a children's performer, Kinda dance instructor, receptionist, debt collector, retail manager, Oxygen cover model and fitness model and personal trainer. Oh boy.... what a line of diversity! LOL YES, I can do a bit of everything. If I put my mind to something, I feel I can do anything! I realised there has never been a "job" interview I've had, that I didn't get the job! I guess I'm pretty good at selling myself :) I don't see myself as arrogent. I have insecurities just like anybody else. But I am an optimist, and I'm a happy person. This has served me well throughout my life!
Okay, so after some thought this morning, while feeding my baby and juggling my sons homework and breakfast dishes, the inspiration was loud and clear in my mind!! I'm a MUM ON WHEELS!! At least that's how I feel :) I am a professional at juggling a lot of balls. Seriously though, as a mum, we have to juggle a lot. I often refer to myself as an octopus, because I need 8 legs to "do it all" in a day. Sometimes I only cross off 3 or 4 things on my "to do" list. But that's okay, No one can do it all, all the time! I'm not a perfect mother. I don't always get it right. Some days are easy ones, others are hell. Motherhood is the most demanding, time consuming, stressful, rewarding, joyous and wonderful job in the world!
Don't get pregnant if you think motherhood is going to be a romantic life of cooing, baby dress ups and raspberries. There will be lots of poo, vomit, chaos, crying and whinging, clutter and exhaustion, fighting between siblings, little money for yourself and time for yourself, less holidays (or at least, they will become the budget kind), lots of driving around to extra curriculum activities, limited time with your husband. Throw in that quickie when you get the chance!!...... And then there's the changes to your body.... It widens! Your belly button stretches and is never as tight again. Your boobs... we wont even go there! When you used to spend an hour to get ready, be prepared to do it in under 15. As that's probably all the time you'll get to yourself for a long while. That is the truth!! ....But you know, I wouldn't change any of it! My job as a mum on wheels is the best profession I have ever had. It's never boring! And the pros do outweigh the cons :) I can find amusement in every day. I go to sleep at night and sink deep into my wonderful bed (which feels so much nicer as a mum) and I thank my Heavenly father that I am a mother to my 3 children. I thank him for those opportunities to talk to them, and teach them and love them. I think it's so important to find the joy in motherhood.
We only get one crack at this job per child. No doubt we will make mistakes. We will try again and again. We will cry and we will rejoice. There are no guarantees either, so all we can do is hope that if we are doing all that we can with the knowledge that we have, and teaching our children through love and understanding, all will be OK. Life as a mum on wheels is a circus! :)
There are joyous times where my heart aches with so much love I feel like I'm about to burst. I look into those little eyes who look to me for purpose and direction and I am the primary influence to mould these perfect spirits! Often my husband and I will look at each other and our eyes will fill up with tears of happiness. The innocent remarks, the rewards of good teachings, their sweet acts of love towards us and each other make us so happy and they make our job so worth it. I love my family with all of my heart and my life revolves around them......
So welcome to my blog! It's going to be a wonderful roller coaster ride! I hope to entertain you but also inspire other mums to love their job and take pride in their sacred calling of being a mother.
good job on starting the blog! i look forward to reading further posts :)
